Deploying IndoorAtlas is the process of enabling indoor positioning. Firstly, you always need to create a building and upload the floor plan images in IndoorAtlas Web App.

Next, signal data for positioning maps is created either through:

Step 1. Fingerprint or import beacons

A) Collecting (aka fingerprinting) signal data from a target venue with our mapping application, MapCreator 2.

B) Following the No-fingerprinting deployment process.

In both cases, you also need to make sure there's a suitable battery-powered BLE beacon or WiFi-access point infrastructure available in the venue. Our Beacon Planner helps you to design a beacon installation layout if you plan to install battery-powered beacons.

Step 2. Testing with Ground Truth

Always do Ground Truth testing after fingerprinting! This enables the IndoorAtlas team to support you. See Ground Truth testing guide.

The Deployment Process

Below we give you an overview of the standard deployment process to help you produce high-quality deployments.
