Firstly, beacons need to be installed when venue mapping is performed. If you install beacons after the mapping, you will need to do at least a "light" remapping (less dense compared to full mapping) to include the beacon information. To test the effect of beacons, it is recommended that you use an iPhone, as Android can take advantage of Wi-Fi base stations and the effect of beacons may not be easy to detect. IndoorAtlas provides a test app for iOS called Simple Positioning App. If you wish to use Android to do the testing, you can use MapCreator 2 but in that case you should disable Wi-Fi scanning to see the effect of beacons alone.
