Device settings affecting positioning performance

Note that on Android several settings affect whether IndoorAtlas SDK can access radio information. Prior to testing positioning, please verify

• Locating Method set to “High accuracy”
• Preferably have the background scanning options enabled – see images below.
• Alternatively, you need to have Bluetooth “on” and WiFi “on”

These settings reside in slightly different place under the Android settings, depending on the device model and OS version. Importantly, to let your app users have as good positioning quality as possible, you should remind the users to enable these settings after installing your app.

Example: settings on Samsung S6 / Android 7.0

From Settings, select Connections.

Select “Improve accuracy” from the above view to get into background scanning options.

Example: settings on HTC 10 / Android 6.0 and Android 7.0

Select “…” menu from top right.

Select “Scanning” from the above view to get into background scanning options.
